“Kindness is the essence of greatness.”

Joseph B. Wirthlin
I think what this quote means is that when someone thinks someone else is great they are looking at their kindness towards things. They see how kind they are towards people and animals and nature. To be truly great you do need kindness. Kindness will take you far in life. Kindness is the essence of greatness. It is the act of giving and nothing expecting nothing. Every great human being should be kind. Either people are kind or they’re not. Kindness comes from within you and having the power to make people smile and be happy.

Thanksgiving and Thanksgiving Day

In 1621 the Plymouth colonists and Wampanoag shared an autumn harvest feast that is acknowledged today as one of the firsts Thanksgiving celebrations in the colonies. For more than two centuries, days of Thanksgiving were celebrated. Native people of North America have held ceremonies to give thanks to successful harvests, for the hope of a good growing season in the early spring, and for other good fortune such as the birth of a child. Giving thanks was, and still is, the primary reason for ceremonies or celebrations.

Reflection: What I am very thankful for is…
1. That I have a roof over my head and food on the table every day.
2. That I am alive and healthy.
3. That I have a loving family.
4. To have friends who care for me and help me become a better person.
5. To still have my father in my life.
6. Being happy and not being miserable
7. Having a sister I could look up to.
8. Having the chance to wake up every morning.
9. Having a hard working mom that fights to give us what we need.
10. I am thankful for having it easy compared to other people.
11. Having a best friend who motivates me.
12. For being who I am.

“If it is not right do not do it; if it is not true do not say it.”

Marcus Aurelius
This quote is easily understandable and it is something we should always follow. If you know something is wrong why do it? If it is going to get you into trouble why even think about doing it. Every actions has a consequence, a bad action has a negative outcome, so we should not do the wrong things. If you also know something is not true, or you hear someone saying something and you know they’re wrong you should spread the rumors. You’ll just be getting yourself in the mess just cause you said something that you know wasn’t true.
Dental Assistant

Duties and Responsibilities: The dental assistant performs many tasks requiring both interpersonal and technical skills. They assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures. They ask about the patients medical history and take blood pressure and pulse. Also help patients feel comfortable before, during, and after dental treatment.

Salary: $33,761

Education: Some assistants have a high school diploma and only receive on-the-job training; however, postsecondary dental assisting programs offer more comprehensive career training.

Reflection: I don’t think I would like to become one because I don’t even like going to the dentist myself. Also I wouldn’t like to be someone’s assistant I would like to become the dentist myself instead.

“It may make a difference to all eternity whether we do right or wrong today.”
James Freeman Clark

What this quote means to me is that the choices you make today are going to lead to the outcomes in the future. Every choice comes with a consequence and if you choose right today, you’ll get a good positive outcome but if you don’t you get a negative one. So everyday you have to choose the right to make a good difference in the future.

Veterans Day

Veterans Day used to be called Armistice Day. It became a legal federal holiday in the United States in 1938. November 11, 1918 is generally regarded as the end of “the war to end all wars”. Veterans Day is a holiday dedicated to American Veterans of all wars. Veterans Day continues to be observed on November 11, regardless of what day of the week on which it falls. It is a celebration to honor America’s Veterans for their patriotism, love of country, and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good.

Reflection: It amazes me how brave these human beings can be for protecting our country and our safety. They sacrifice a lot just being there, leaving their family behind for a long time. I wonder why some of them do it, but it needs to be done. I am very thankful for them.
