"Our very business in life is not to get ahead of others... but to get ahead of ourselves."
Thomas S. Monson

To me this quote means that life isn't a competition in who succeeds the most. You shouldn't try to get ahead of someone and be better than them because then all you're going to be focused on is where they are at, and you'll fall behind. What this quote says to me is that we should do things only for ourselves and not for others or to impress other people. I think it's exploring what you are capable of and making yourself happy. Our business in life is to be a better person and not try to be like anyone else.

" Truth wealth is of the heart, not of the purse. "
 Og Mandino
What i think this means is that in this case its not talking of wealth in literal, it is talking about who you are. Truth wealth is the kind of person you know you are. Money or wealth does not define you. Wealth is not what is in your purse there a meaning more beyond than that. I think wealth is what people know you for. It's how you are and what you show to people. It's pride and dignity.

" Real wealth is not so much what we have as what we are."
Sterling W. Sill

Wealth does not define us. It does not make us who we are. The house we live in and and stuff we own does not truly say who and what we are. What truly matters is who we are and what we are made of. Having wealth is just having wealth. The person who knows us best is our own self and we should know that wealth is not really the most important thing. Real wealth is knowing that you're a good person and not showing off what you have.

"You cannot do wrong and feel right. It is impossible."
Ezra T. Benson

For me this quote says it all. When you do something wrong that you're not supposed to do and you know its wrong you will end up feeling guilty. You wont feel right because you know what you've done and that you made the wrong choice. So doing something wrong won't make you feel right. Not good or proud of yourself. In the other hand, doing something right will make you feel right and glad because you made the right choice. Doing something wrong and you feeling right, it just doesn't make sense. It's actually pretty impossible to do something wrong and feel right. Sooner or later it will come back to you and make you feel guilty and wrong.
Acupressure

Prospective massage therapists usually must complete a training program and an examination.

Reflection: I wouldn’t like to become one because I don’t see myself massaging people for a living. Their salary is decent but I don’t think acupressure is for me.

First Week Of School

My first week of school as a sophomore at Hpiam was great. I woke up early and i was excited to start the day. I was pleased with the classes I got. I got psych class which i'm very excited to be in. I cant wait to see what we'll learn. I'm very interested in that subject. I mostly got new teachers and they have different ways of teaching from my past teachers but i'll get used to them. I did get to meet some new people the first day of school and it's good. Since theres many new people im happy because it's not the same people as last year. I start my day with spanish for first period, then english, history and end it with p.e. Those are my odd days. My even days consist of attending this new media class which by the way i'm happy to be taking. Then I continue with geometry, psychology, and lastly biology. I gotta say I like even days better than odd days for some reason. Perhaps it's because I enjoy taking the subjects I take on even days better than the ones on odd days. Last year I had trouble with passing my classes and doing my work, but I dont want that to happen again. This year i will try my hardest to pass my classes and make it to the 11th grade.
“Education is the latchkey to success in life.”
Gordon B. Hinckley
This quote by Gordon B. Hinckley has a lot of meaning. For me it means that education will get you very far and bring you success, and well it’s true. Education is everything and without education you won’t get very far. You’d have to be a genius. Many successful people who once were alive didn’t have no education but times are different. Now you can’t even get a job without a high school diploma. Education is free and some students take that for granted but I guess they don’t understand how important it is to work hard and graduate until they reach what they want to be.

“ Decisions determine destiny.”
Thomas S. Monson

What the quote means to me is that every choice you make has an outcome and consequence. They lead to new opportunities and success or failure. I know some people believe their destiny is already done and planned but in reality you get to choose your own destiny and what kind of person you want to become. It’s up to you what you want your destiny to become by the decisions you make.
